Critical Path Analysis / Method / Scheduling

The project network analysis technique for determining the minimum project duration.

Explanation and illustration:

The technique had its origin in the simple arrow diagram that showed the critical path through a network of activities given the durations of each activity and the time dependence between each activity and all others. It has developed into both a planning and a control technique and in this form is more formally accommodated under the heading of Network Analysis.
